Real Estate tips: Time to winterize your Central Virginia pool

Here are 5 tips for closing down your Lynchburg swimming pool this fall – some ideas that will help you plan for an easy pool opening day next spring!. Thanks to our friends at Pool Foolin’ for giving us these ideas.

#1 -When Winterizing, remove as much water from the piping as possible to prevent freezing.  Water travels down, so try and remove all water in the piping above ground level.

#2 – you can cover and continue to treat the water, especially if you are fighting the leaves.

#3 – close a healthy pool.  Make sure to kill all bacteria and algae with proper chlorine levels.

#4  – know your chemical levels, especially your stabilizer.  Knowing what your levels are can help you to treat the water properly.

#5 – the colder the better: It’s harder for algae to grow in colder water.
