Go ‘Over the Edge’ for HumanKind Lynchburg on Nov 9th

Due to the hurricane, the Over the Edge for HumanKind
Lynchburg fundraising event has been moved to Nov 9th, 2018. We are excited that it was able to be rescheduled as we love to go ‘Over the Edge’ to help raise awareness and funds for those in need in our local community!

If you are not familiar with HumanKind and how they have impacted the Lynchburg area for so many years, we want to list a few of the things they do to help those in need. They want lift the community awareness for our mission to strengthen individuals and families through care, counseling and education to new heights!

Ways to Work Program is a program designed to help individuals move closer to financial independence and advance career opportunities by providing a loan assistance for a vehicle. They also receive financial training, coaching for life skills and credit education. Eligibility is determined by a number of factors and of course by the applicant’s ability to repay the loan.

Over the Edge for HumanKind in Lynchburg also supplies needed funds for their health and wellness programs. Getting outdoors is important and helping support local businesses is done by their Community Garden initiative. They grow a variety of local greens and veggies that are then donated to local area food partners. Learn more here

HumanKind’s historic campus has over 160 acres of fun things to do for local families, including outdoor pool, trails and basketball courts. (Click here to learn more). Some of the area schools have used some of the trails for their cross country races, ranging from middle school to collegiate – more here

HumanKind’s Child Care Resource Center is a one of a kind program in the state of Virginia – read the infograph below for details.
